Yesterday I went to the Talbot Co Kennel Club dog show. Not a bad day here on the Eastern Shore.......all the dogs were in top form and happy to be out in Tuckahoe Park under the trees. My main interest was watching the Shetland Sheepdog competition. As the Mom of 2 Shelties, I enjoy seeing other Shelties. I talked with several of the Breeders and especially enjoyed talking with Patty Page of Cataway Shelties. We got one of our sweetest dogs ever from her. Our Amberleigh was my "Missy Girl". She lived for 5 1/2 years until a rare immune disease took her to the Rainbow Bridge. She brought me to learn more about pet loss and the effects it has on people. Since she was a valued member of our family we all grieved. In her memory I along with others started The Animal Love & Loss Network (http://www.alln.org/). I do this in memory of her and I feel so fulfilled knowing I help others in their time of loss.
I watched the competition and enjoyed it so much. Happy to say Patty's Sheltie won Best of Winners.
We watched the Puliks, Old English Sheepdogs, Briards and Portugese Water Dogs before we left to come home to our Best Shelties, Hannah & Shadow!!
